Lake Erie Beach Glass

My sister and I have recently found a new "LOVE"! We love discovering seaglass on the beach and creating wonderful pieces of jewelry that is unique, beautiful and a little reminder of the sun and beach. We live near Cleveland, Ohio and spend our time combing the shores of Lake Erie-when it's not subzero temps. of course! It's amazing what you find if you just take a minute to really look at your surroundings. Tiny little treasures lay in wait everywhere!

As we comb the beach, we usually find clear or white pieces of seaglass. Most of the time the pieces are small-but, that's just fine by us! We love to make earrings and wire wrapped rings out of the smaller pieces. The larger pieces are definitley the most prized and if you see us jumping up and down and laughing-we've found a big one! We are like little kids out there!

We have quite a collection of seaglass now and have made several pieces of jewelry from them. They are definitely our biggest hit online and at home parties! People just love the nostalgia of the beach glass and the detail in each story of each piece! We try to keep all of our finds separate so that we know exactly where each piece has come from.

(Sorry! This ring is sold!)

Recently we have had many people offer to give us their seaglass! It really is amazing how many people collect and cherish their treasures. We know how meaningful it is to people and reward their finds with a unique piece of jewelry designed just for them!

The climate on Lake Erie is brutal and we are looking forward to warmer temps. so we can start combing the beach again! In the meantime, be sure to check out our website for our newest Seaglass Creations!

We need your feedback! Please leave us a comment :)

Olivine Tree of Life

Need a little inspiration in your day? We have it. A little reminder of God's love that you can see all day long.

For this design we used an Antiqued Copper Tree of Life pendant and we individually wrapped each Olivine Celestial Crystal with copper wire and secured each on together. In the Bible, the color green symbolizes growth or spiritual growth and healing. We love the combination of the antiqued copper and olivine colors together...the two colors are beautiful and compliment each other. The necklace is finished with a copper toggle clasp.

Postcards From God...

I am truly inspired every day by the creativity of my fellow Etsians. Recently, I met Jamie. She creates postcards to inspire and uplift the hearts of everyone who sees them. They are a must see!
Today I'm featuring her shop. Take a minute to read her made my day!

My name is Jamie Shires Moore. As a portrait photographer and artist, I have served the Richmond, Virginia area for 20 years. My studio, Masterpiece Portraits, specializes in fine custom portraiture of children and their families.

I also create inspirational fine art under the name Postcards From God. The idea for this name came many years ago, as a simple image, that had great impact on me. I was traveling back roads to a client’s house one late afternoon for a portrait session and the sun was just setting. I came around a curve in the road and just ahead of me was an old, large, bare oak tree, with the brilliant sun on the horizon shining through the tree and creating a silhouette. It was breathtaking and I exclaimed to my assistant, “Wow, that’s a postcard from God!”. This scene stayed in my mind and my heart as I thought of the many ways God daily reminds us of who He is and how much He loves us. The idea “Postcards From God” was born. As I have created my inspirational art over the years I occasionally sold pieces to friends and portrait clients. When I first built my studio’s website and bought the domain name for my studio, I also bought “”. I had the link go directly to my studio website, “”, and featured my work there in a separate gallery.

Two years ago, I invited some of my clients’ children to model for me for a self published coffee table book, “This Little Light Of Mine”. It featured beautiful images of children photographed specifically for the book, along with scripture, old hymns and poetry, a wonderful collection of devotions for children and their parents.

It wasn’t until a few months ago that my daughter told me about Etsy and suggested I take a look at it. After thinking about how it would be good as a way of introducing Postcards From God to the those outside my local area I decided to set up my Etsy site. I am so excited about this new experience and have received wonderful comments from visitors. I have listed some of my original inspirational art as well as a few of my individual images from “This Little Light Of Mine” as separate prints. I have many other orginal images to share and as I am continually in the creative mode, there will be new ones, too.

It is my desire that every time someone views a Postcards From God image, they are encouraged and blessed and are reminded how much God loves them.
For more information on Masterpiece Portraits or Postcards From God, please visit or This link goes directly to my Etsy site. Also, my member name on Etsy is PostcardsFromGod.
God bless you all!

Olivine Vintage Style Necklace

I love the vintage look. There's just something about it that pulls me in. Whether it's the nostalgia of it or it's unique beauty, I'm not sure. It definitely grabs my attention. My sister and I decided to give the vintage style a shot and designed this Olivine Vintage Style necklace. This necklace is my favorite design so far. The oxidized sterling silver turned out beautiful. It has a wonderful luster to it. It is smooth and the dark color adds a new and exciting design element.

I've designed this necklace using sterling silver chain, lobster clasp, and wire which I oxidized to give my design a vintage look. The Olivine Cubic Zirconia Teardrop Pendant is wire wrapped with oxidized sterling silver wire and attached to the chain. I used Olivine, Celestial Crystal, faceted beads which I individually wire wrapped and secured to the chain.

The Olivine Pendant is a 36x9mm faceted teardrop. The Olivine Celestial Crystal are 8mm faceted beads.

This necklace is availabe for IMMEDIATE SHIPMENT at our online store:

Oxidizing Sterling Silver With Liver of Sulfur

I recently posted a blog about oxidizing sterling silver using hard boiled eggs. Now, this was the very first attempt at oxidizing anything for me and I had not tried using Liver of Sulfur yet. I believed at the time when I had oxidized the sterling silver with hardboiled eggs that the result was good. Well, I've changed my mind! The end result of using Liver of Sulfur was, in my opinion, far superior than the hard boiled eggs. I'm not an expert at this by any means, but, if you compare the pics in the two articles you will see the difference.

If you can handle the smell, which is overwhelming and you want a WELL VENTILATED ROOM, then I promise that you will love the result! I'll give you a step by step description of the process.

1. Gather all of your sterling silver for the piece that you want to oxidize. (you don't want to do this twice if you can avoid it!) I found that it does not affect the piece if the item is already hand wrapped.
2. Be sure you have on hand a small bowl (large enough to hold your pieces of jewelry), tweezers (to handle the jewelry-you do not want to get this on your skin!), gloves, plastic spoon, liver of sulfur, and a plate or somewhere to place your jewelry when finished.

3. Fill the bowl with HOT tap water.

4. Use the tweezers to grab two small pieces of liver of sulfur (a little larger than the size of a pea). Place it in the HOT tap water and use a plastic spoon to stir the water and help dissolve the liver of sulfur.

5. Place your items in the water. You'll notice that the silver will start to oxidize immediately, but, you will have to wait several minutes before you get the darker oxidized color. I use the spoon to stir the water up as the items sit and it seems to help the process.

6. Use the tweezers to pull out the pieces of silver and rinse with hot water, then cold water and place them on a plate to dry.

7. Enjoy!

I hope this was helpful to you! I know you will love the look of your jewelry when finished! Please let me know if this was helpful or not. Leave a comment! Thank you!

I have been a bridesmaid four times over the last 10 years and the experience has always been interesting to say the least. Out of those four weddings, I have only kept one of the necklaces that I wore with the very flattering bridesmaid dress! Of course, the only one who really needs to be happy and have the best day of her life is you, the Bride! I've noticed that things have changed quite a bit since I was a bridesmaid and I have to say, the dresses keep getting nicer and so does the jewelry, which, I think is great! Everyone should be happy and have the best day possible! That's what great memories are made from. And that's why we love making beautiful jewelry for the Bride and the Bridesmaids!

Weekend Feature!

Lately, I've been thinking about warmer weather. The beach and the sound of the waves crashing against the shore is definitely calling out to me! If I could, I would own a beach house on the shores of the Outer Banks. I love the atmosphere there. It is totally laid back, relaxing, with nothing between you and the ocean except sun, sun, and more sun!

That's why I love finding these treasures along the shore. They serve as little reminders of that state of peace and magnificence that you can only find by the ocean. Each piece is unique, the colors are beautiful and transclucent, making each design special and exciting!

This week we will be featuring our Ocean Blue Seaglass Necklace and matching earrings. They are made with seaglass found by my Aunt off the shores of Cape Cod Bay. I used Amazonite faceted dyed jade beads and wrapped each bead individually together to create an overall soft and peaceful effect. I wrapped a clear piece of seaglass with nontarnish silver plate wire with a swirl at the top and attached it to the necklace. I absolutely love how it turned out!

The earrings are made with the same clear color seaglass and secured to chain. I wire wrapped and securely attached the Amazonite faceted beads, crystal silver swarovski crystal, and white swarovski crystal pearls directly to the chain so they dangle. They are a perfect match for this necklace!

Beginning tomorrow, we will feature the necklace and earrings (sold separately) with free shipping! You can check it out on our website at:
